hmmm, that must be jeep specific. federal law states that all OBD2 DLC's (data link connectors) must be within a certian distance from the steering wheel. with OBD, it could be anywhere. i've seen some under the hood and others hidden behind interior panels. try autozones website, it should tell where the DLC is located along with how to pull the code.

well OBD wasnt mandated until mid 90's so it may not have a port at all. i'll check autozone, just curoius, how far is it supposed to be from steering wheel? if memory serves me right, the silverado is right underneath it

OBDII is usually no farther than the center console. sometimes they put it behind the ash tray.

my 89 s-blazer was under the steering wheel, foriegn cars and i think ford put some under the hood before the federal mandate.

oh, i got ya, i thought you were saying they have to be a certain distance away from the Steering wheel, you're saying they've gotta be within a certain distance of it. that makes more since. autozone sayc the DLC is under the hood, passenger side, front of engine, corner, mounted on fenderwell

as far as i can tell, its a fuel issue. it gets fuel fine to start up then just loses it. i dunno if the pump is weak, or if there a bad relay somehwere or if some sensor is telling the computer to stop sending fuel
