| It's not a truck, but.... So as the title states, this aint a truck question, but at least it's automotive so the "other" category seemed like a good place to start. Long story short, I tried to be a good son and help my mother out. She's got a 02 Ford Thunderbird. Yes she's one of those women... Anyway, she got it new and now 7 years later (and only 12,000 miles!), the A/C has gone out. Not really an issue since it is a convertible afterall, but lets face it, she's in that age range of hot-flashes and having a good cold a/c unit is a must for any car she gets into. None-the-less, I tried to just go ahead and fill it for her with one of those recharge kits. I've done this a hundred times on various vehicles, and though the permenancy of the fix is always mixed, it's at least always worked for however long it takes to leak back out - sometimes a month, sometimes 2 years... Basically, I'm not green to this. However, on this car, you can't fit a **** in under the hood sideways and I can't find the fill port to save my life. I pulled this and that off and put the car up in the air, and nothing. That little fill port is MIA. Of course, for good measure, I got a little jab in at her and popped the hood on my chevy for her and showed her how nice and easy to get to and front and center mine is. Hey, I had to get one in for the chevy's... Then I had to remind her that my truck is 11 years old, the a/c has never been serviced and works beautifully. That's two for the chevy, T-bird 0. So anyway, do any of you masterminds out there happen to know where to look for that little filler port so I don't have to watch her spend $300 at the dealer for a recharge. Thanks guys. |
