which truck is best offroad?

ok here is a fun hypothetical question for you:
if you took the 4wd version of all the manufacturers full size trucks, wich would be the best offroad vehicle, assuming the truck is stock but with all options and all the tires are the same? lets assume the terrain is a bit muddy but not too tight. maybe a hypothetical score truck type race or maybe "who would get you through it better" competion. here are the competitors:

ford f150
chevy/gmc 1500
dodge 1500
toyota tundra
nissan titan

ford f250
chevy/gmc 2500
dodge 2500

you can judge overall or 1/2 vs 3/4 just try give some backup with your argument that may include past experince or magazine articles or whatever else. brand ragging is encouraged if it is funny.

Where's the Tacoma at? I've seen many stock toyotas do some crazy stuff... and my Ford (f-250 and Ranger) can do some crazy stuff too. My S-10 kept getting stuck in 4 and Neutral.

Exclamation Forgot 2 majors

From the trucks given, it's going to be the f250. AND I'M A CHEVY OWNER!

You did however, forget at least 2 major trucks... JEEPS AND HUMVEE'S!

And don't give me any of that, "those are suv's, not trucks" bull honky.
They are serious off-road companies that have been mentioned a time or two on this site.

Plus they have both made trucks in the past. And Humer still does.

BTW, I am aware I spelled humer wrong. This site won't let you spell it right. Probly due to the sexual slang for oral. HAHAHA.

from those i'd say the f250. but my jeep would probably outwheel any of them on the trails (maybe not mud just bc power and weight). alsoe the tocoma is a beast. i've seen my buddies 2WD keep up and even outdo a couple of the big 3's 4wd trucks

Personally I wouldnt wheel anything newer than 1993, "I dont like IFS"
Id prefer a 1986 Dodge D-250 Power Ram with the T-727 tranny, 360 4 bbl. The one I owned was a former Penn-Dot truck and came from the factory with a Dana 60 front and rear and a stock Detroit locker.

well of course a jeep or a humvee will do really well offroad, but i am interested in "full size trucks" also the tocoma, ranger, and colorado are considered compact trucks. i was wondering if people were going to choose the 3/4 tons over the 1/2 tons because of the superior power and ground clearance, but what about weight? some people claim that the big f250 and dodge will not do well because of the front heavy diesel engine. the chevy suffers from ground clearance with the ifs. also i have seen f250's screw up the tierod that sits low infront of the front axle.... if i were guessing i might say the dodge 1/2 ton because it has good ground clearance, it is lighter than the 3/4 tons, and has a great small block gasoline hemi engine. btw i am a gmc 2500hd owner. i have also seen one of those older dodge trucks do really well in the mud. but lets just keep the discussion to new trucks. honestly though most of us are not rich enough to throw our 40k trucks into the mud thank you...

love the last statement. and completely agree with it.

back to the topic, it depends what kind of off-roading we're talkin about. mud, trails, rocks, hills, theres so many different variables its hard to pick just one.
