Pete, this is the rims design I am going to get. American Racing. Either 15x8, or I might even go for a 15x10 just for the mean look though I know it sill require extra shaving

In different news, I posted this thread originally for the desire to avoid an SAS and stick with the IFS lift, however, due to some recent conversations and an awesome accidental find, I may be going with an SAS after all. I will explain more later when I know more, but would this be the better idea folks? I think in the end, I will be happier with it done right.... LOL.

If you can do a SAS, go with it. You'll be happier with it done the way you want, instead of a compromise.

I agree greasemonkey, and after more research and more conversations yesturday, I am going for it. It will take me longer however then the original plan of spring time, due to the length of time the truck will be out of commision. So I am putting a new motor in my pick-up first, new clutch and exhaust and getting the stupid thing inspected so i have soemthing to drive in the meantime. The guy who said he will do will do it after hours over the weekends, and let me help, so i can expand my own knowledge of whats going on, and inturn aid my thinking and wisdom here.... Meanwhile, we are looking for the correct components. We are swaping out the rear axle with it to maintain bolt patterns. Stronger for both, with lowered gears and lockers in the rear.... The entire suspension will be rebuilt and new. I am so excited, y'all have NO IDEA!!!!! Like I said though, i will keep y'all posted on the progress, and take project pics.

Sounds like it is going to be a sweet ride. Im still throwing some ideas around for my Blazer. were you still planning on a SAS for your mazda? I discovered a dana 30 from a jeep wrangler is the same width and lug pattern as a ranger/mazda pickup.

I might down the road, right now I am going to take one project at a time. I still owe for the Mazda which makes it a shame it is dead, so I will fix it. The build the blazer, and when that is done, I may or may not move on to the Mazda. Probably looking at about a year to two years for both projects, so i will let you know. Does that make sense?

Yeah, the Blazer is going to be my project over the summer. I lost my M-880 and my dakota. My D-150 is in hiding at an undisclosed location, so sometime in the next couple weeks Im going to go get it. The Ranger Danger needs a transmission, so thats my next project before the Blazer. Id like an automatic, but if its easier just to get another 4 speed, I'll do that.

I bet it would be easier, and simplier not to mention more cost effective.... just my thoughts there though.

My buddy has BFG MT's on his Burb with 10'' inch wheels Jr. go with this size rim your going to like it well back to my buddy we went 4x4ing and my Burb started to get stuck on 4x4 with my LTX Michelin tires compare to my buddy and he was still in two wheel drive same Burbs it just says BFG's get after it and they last a long time as well remember when 4x4ing if you start spinning in mud and there is rocks in the mud your wheels are going to get beat up you might want to buy just a cheap set if you plan on dogging your 4x4.
