Yes, and from experience, the only differences in their trucks are the badges and a few of what are considered "standard" options. Mechanically, there is no difference between them, so basically, they are the same. Just like Lexus and Toyota, Honda and Acura, Ford and Lincoln and so on.... some people prefer certain names, but in the end, it doesn't matter.... Why? Is this another "bored" question, or are you asking for a reason?

spin off from a response from another thread. just a pet peeve of mine. some of you know that most of my family has worked for GM. as a result i have heard the stories where a Chevy truck has come off the line with a GMC tailgate or vice-versa. some have even made it to the dealership lot like this.

a badge or sticker does not make them different. it's like changing your name so you can marry your sister, your still related.

for the most part they are exactly the same. you buy gm performace parts for your chevy vehicle. there not chevy performance parts lol. i put an s10 front end on my 00 jimmy with no modification. no rad support swap, no fenders were swapped just the headlights and grill. my rims came off a hombre. same lug pattern. they are the exact same vehicles mechanically and for the most part cosmetically.

Originally when GMC trucks came out they were "dressed up" versions of the chevys, then they got to be the exact same, now it seems the body styles are changing between the two ,and options too...

stelmadl will become famous soon enough
the other difference between the two, besides looks, are the price. GMC's cost more with the same options....for some reason.

It is like the difference between Toasted O's (generic) and Cherios (name brand) they are the same ceral, you just pay for the name.... GMC is supposed to carry the idea of being higher class with more "standard" features, therefore you pay more. It is dumb, but how it is...lol...

Some people do prefer one over the other, kind of like when Dodge and Plymouth were side by side before Plymoutbh went under. I had a friend who would NEVER own a Dodge, hated them to death, but had no issue with a Plymouth Neon. Even though it was, down to the letter, the EXACT same car.... just because of the logo, he felt better about it. It happens. Probably why both Chevy and GMC are still alive and doing well.
