I do agree, however, not being in the trade proffesionally, it is easier to walk into sears for a new one occasionally, then find the Snap on truck. There is no store front here, I am not sure about anywhere else... everything is direct sale from a truck, and if I need to replace a rachet today to fix a problem tonight.... the convienience is the way I go.... just how I see. Besides in ten years of using them, I have only needed to replace my 1/4" rachet and only twice, the 3/8" and 1/2" have held up great for me....

i have mostly snap on.... i got them when i was goin to school. they were like 75% off so i litterally cleared the truck. i think i spent close to 10,000. just on tools. i have all the speciallty tools for different makes and models up to 05. and all my sanders and air tools are snapon. now all i need is a new air compressor and i can acually use them again. i recently tripped over the air hose and busted the valve off of it. it was only a 5 gallon tank but man did that thing leave a dent in my truck.

Snap-On for me.
All of my boxes, and hand tools are all Snap-On.
Takes quite a few years to grow, but after some time, one can develop quite a collection.

I figured 75 would have all the cool tools.... but as for tool boxes... none for me, I would need a place to put them first...LOL... instead, I have them in several smaller ones, mots of which I keep in my truck, 'cause you never know.

i have not broke that many craftsman rachets. i broke a 3/8 couple years ago and that only one i broke. cant afford a bunch of high end tools right now anyway. wont be long and will need a new compressor and 1" impact.

the ratchet above is the only way to go for me ever since I bought a 3/8 and 1/4 drive those are the only ratchet's I use. I have about 25 snap-on & craftsman rachet's that just collect dust now. If you guy's havent heard or seen these ratchet's yet check them out they are a life saver.

I also got a great Snap-on & Mac deal at school (60%off) so my 4 Craftsman tool box's have about 75% Snap-on tools 20% Mac and 5% craftsman and man it sure is a pain to track down tool trucks to do exchanges on broken tools and then the turn around time is so long you loose money waiting on those clowns to get back to you. -vs- walking into sears and and doing a simple exchange that day.
I really cant complain tho I wouldnt change what I got for nothing
