Narrow or Wide tires on a 4x4? - Page 3

I say it all depends in what type of terrain one is going to 4x4.

I like the wider look fore sure.

Yes wider does defiantly look better I got a friend who has a 94 stepside with a 6 inch on it and he's running stock 265's it just looks stupid it's like why pay for the lift if your not going to put bigger tires on it? I mean my truck doesn't have ANY lift on except a leveling kit and i got 305's stuck under there had to slightly mod the bumper and get off set rims but they sure do look cool!!!!

I had to think about this for a long time, because so much depends on how and where the vehicle is used, but I finally came up with an answer...

Tracks, that's what look best on a 4x4. Tracks like on a dozer or tank, with nice aggressive blocks.

Well, I agree that narrow don't look right (see first picture below), and wide can look just as dumb (picture #2), but tracks are cool... (remaining photos)

I certainly wouldn't mind having that Porsche that thing is just SWEET!!!!!

All about the gears in the rear of a tractor you know. But they will get stuck...unless it's a 4x4 but they can get bogged down though due to the equipment attached to it.

given and you are right. but there has been holes that i would take a 2wd tractor with skinny tires versus my 4wd with medium width tires, if you call a 10 medium width. i love my 16X10s because they get through the mud with very little problems but handle the roads, wet or dry. the tractor here has tires filled with water. this makes it gravy walking through slop or soft soil.
