I'd say a combination of Exhaust and Cold Air

I say cold air for starters but as ford4x4 said cold air and exhaust. Cold air tends to be a bit cheaper but once you get the motor breathing in good it's gotta breath out good as well.

I know that the newer Ford trucks respond well to a chip/programer but it looks, from your avitar, that you have a GM. Sorry but I'm not to up to date on the GM trucks.

Actually the best upgrade would be all the above.

Ya know after much consideration, I have decided i think the best performance option to most vehicle would be a high performance driver. Saw a wreck today, idiots that cant drive. Low speed cars with a lower speed drivers . it rains and everyone has a hot rod. These little underpowered vehicles with drivers that want to spin the tires, Cant do it when its dry, but when it rains look out.One was a little sonona that spun around a corner and lost control and ran backwards into a parked car. His insurance company is gonna love him. Wow to be young and stoopid again

I used to do that in me F250 4x4 driving through Burlington VT city streets. I would kick the back out on every corner and be sideways(straigh to the road I was going to take) before entering the intersection. Never hit a car or lost controll but I also wasn't stupid about it either and didn't take some turns like that is I didn't have a clear shot. But I trued when ther ewas other traffic just to give someon a mild coronary...

Adn again Cold air and exhaust. Cheap and easy. Than go for the chip. If you have a diesel than do the chip first.

I know what would be a really good performance upgrade for my sonoma, a majorly modified big block chevy with a big supercharger on it. I thnk I would have to go with a differnt tranny and rearend too, I dont think I would want to know what that would do to my stock tranny and rearend. It would be awesome, if I had the money. Lord knows though modifications like this dont come cheap.

I need to post some pics of the 86 s10 I built, Youd like it. I did it for a customer. Too small for me. But i built a really strong 355 chevy vortec headm duntiv 30/30 cam, with a turbo 400 trans and a narrowd ford 9 inch with 4:11 gears. Ran real strong, but couldnt run on the highway for long with those gears. Ended up with a 50 shot in third gear at about 3k rpms. Got it too the low 11s. Neat little truck.
