Well I love the Chevrolets hands down! Would not mind a Dodge (fathers a DODGE guy I grew up with mopar in the blood all the way to my grandfather), but always want and will get a Chevrolet(GMC the evil twin). Now if you could put a Cummins in front of the Allison than oh my what a combo. I over heard some guy in a parking lot talking to another saying he have a Cummins in his 2500 just had to move the cross member back a little. Not sure about the Izuzu diesel seems good never had hands on one so. Those Cummins with a programmer, WOW I have laid tire and smoke up through second on one that came in to the dealer one day.

Chevy?? Do they make anything else?? Oh yeah, GMC.
Being that this poll is pretty much nationwide, or even world wide since we have Canadian and UK members that I am aware of, it would appear to me Chevy is winning the race. GMC is right there neck and neck with FORD. So if you combined GM Trucks, Chevy and GMC vs all the others, what would the poll look like then? Although F-150 does outsell Chevy year after year. Again, if GMC and Chevy were combined, Ford could not say such a thing. I think how a vehicle holds its value says everything about what the public likes. I have a rule for myself, since I have been know to, and will drive a Ford at times, only becasue I think they do make a good strong chassis, If I am buying a brand new truck, I buy GM, if I am buying a used truck I buy Ford. Why? Becasue the GM will hold its value, the Ford does not hold it so well, so you can scoop up a decent Ford at a good price. The price of used GM trucks, you may as well just buy new. Sure you are saving a bit by buying a used GM truck, but by the time you factor in the better interest rate for new, your payment is about the same for a new as it is used. And Oh boy, Not to beat on Dodge, but oh my, I seen many Dodge owners leave the car lot just sick as can be after they got their trade in value vs what they owed. So I'd imagine you could probably get a Dodge truck pretty cheap used. I have never owned a Dodge. Wouldn't mind giving it a try someday. But I like the 318 and 340 motors better than any in a Dodge. I do not like 360's at all. They have a stupid off size bearing journal in the middle of the crank. Duh what's the purpose??? Also like Ford, they are not very interchangeable at all. Chevy and most all GM for that matter are very universal and interchangable.

I am there with Dave. Pros and cons to both the GM trucks and Fords. The Fords have a stronger chassis and brakes. GM has more hp, about equal on the torque, and GM is more comfy and smoother riding for sure, along with usually better mpg too.
Here is my deal though, Fords do not hold value as well. No where nears as bad as Dodge though, but if I buy new, I buy GM trucks since they hold value very well and to buy a used GM truck, by the time you get a better interest rate and full warranty for NEW, you are better off with GM new. ON Ford, you can scoop up a good used one for cheap since they do not hold the value, and if you bought new and wanted out of it in a year, not likely to get out of it wo a huge deficiancy.
