' one time, i almost let a girl drive my old mustang (she insisted she could drive a stick) ..... until she asked why there were 2 brake pedals. Needless to say, i made her get out of the drivers seat.'

haha that reminds me of an episode of king of the hill..i ****in love that show

'hank! the left brake isn't working!'

i was going to teach my sister how to drive a stick in my truck. she started looking at the shifter, and goes 'where's drive?'
she didn't make it very far (maybe 10 feet lol). i let her stall 3 times then told her to get out

i goota have the manual. both my trucks are stard. i like being more involved withthe truck. the feel of a t-handle in my hand when i slam the throttle down on my big block V8. their is nothing like it.

when i first started to drive i swore i would never own anything but standers. being a former trucker and many thousands of miles , i now will never own anything but automatics.

i remember one time, i was used to driving my car everywhere, then i had to take my dads sub for something, and my car is manual. So i rip down the road, push on the gas hard, let go of the gas and lookin for the dang shifter while my left foot slammed the brake hard. haha! i was just laughing, was only 10 sec before i shifted the fool thing on the steering column and now i forgot it already.

Had a stick in my '84 GMC. Ordered it that way. I never got tired of driving it. I really miss that truck. I was looking for a stick when new truck shopping and my mechanic said I had to drive the DMax with the Allison 5 speed automatic. Man is that one sweet auto tranny!!!

Standards are just more fun to drive and they keep you on your toes.

"No guessing"

Huh? You dont guess when you drive manual. Thats how you burn out a tranny.

I prefer manual because you have a better range of gears, you save gas, and it just sounds so much better at a stoplight revving the engine.

Spent a lot of time driving a 5x2 (manual w/ splitter) in the mountains.
I like autos because you can make a sandwich while driving.
At least while trapped at 12 mph on the bigger grades.
