Just figured it out in the new to me truck. I'm happy. For us folks up north its tricky to know what the scale is. I get (mostly highway 2000 k1500 5.3 4spd auto) 8.8 km / L 20 miles / us gal 24 miles / imp gal.

I have no idea why, but the mileage on my GMC just started improving on it's own. Went from 10-11mpg to 12-13 mpg

The only thing I've done to the truck is change the mirrors. I can't believe the slight rust on the old ones cost me 2 mpg...

Actually, you're almost right...

I just realized that this was calculated after my trip to the airport, where I couldn't go over 55 because I threw a wheel weight and anything faster would have rattled the doors off.

Nah, I got that taken care of as soon as I got back from the airport. My local shop charges only $8.00 per wheel for high speed balance, and they have brand new equipment too.

Had both fronts done. When I have a little extra cash, and pick up the two new tires I need, I'll get all six done at once.

The trip to the airport was "fun"... the weight I lost was 3.5 ounces... so you can imagine how much vibration that caused at highway speeds.
