I always liked the manuals my self as far as pulling loads, i dont like autos whether it has a cooler or not, too much power loss through the torque converter and I always worry about gas mileage with the autos. the manual, just stick in fifth and put the hammer down... downshift when possible or required... aint the what Bandit would have done?

I would take a manual anyday over a auto for pulling.... unless we're talking the new allisons.....I have towed Alot with these, and the tow haul feature is ******** sweet... holdback when you need it, and down shift up hills, with overdrive lockout..... cannot be beat IMO

my dad actually complains about his though, 2007 2500hd with the 6.0, i guess the little small block dont have the torque the durrys do though. He always says when you go up a hill if you give it a little gas to get up it just downshifts and you still dont get any more power, on his f250 he just drops it in 4th gear and puts the hammer down and has all the power he needs out of a 351 windsor, great engine I might add.

actually i wish that my dually had the five speed manual. that would help with gas mileage I think.

Huh. I pulled 10-12 percent grades with the same allison 6.0 combo, with a service bed.... but then again, I was being paid by the hour, and not in a huge hurry to get anywhere(got paid going up the hill, and not back down... so I'd putter up the hill
