short bed for me. long beds looked good on the 70's style trucks, but the newer trucks look like misfits with the long beds. they just don't have the right body lines if any to make it look right (talkin bout chevy). dodge has good body lines, except for the new '06.

i wouldnt ever get a short bed truck... with a long bed you can use the trucks whole potential and it is much more practical, plus, i think short beds look goofy and awkward, especially when the got a backrack and/or a tool box in the back.... 8ft box all the way.

I agree mudseeker long beds do look good on 60s and 70s trucks. The c-10s look cool with a single cab long bed but the newer trucks look wierd especially on the new f-150s because there single cab has that wierd window thats like 2" wide. I hope that chevy and dodge dont adopt that, that would make me not want a single cab ever again.

Long bed
I have had both and always run out of room everytime I use the short bed.

I would love to have a 1 ton with the optional 12 foot bed (had them in the 80's anyway). Want it "just because". Someone seeing you driving it wouldn't mess with you. And I love it when people congradulate me when I parallel part a full size truck, ya there driving small or mid size cars but it still helps the ego..

short beds in the 60's to 70's chevys look just plain tough. i love the old short wide 67-72's i own a 62 short stepside and it looks pretty tough. even on the newer 1/2 tons i like the shortbeds (excluding 4 door shortbeds) but on a 3/4 or 1 ton i prefer a long bed for the room and actual purpose of the heavier trucks.

long bed, my school has a thing called raku day, which is a clay thing, anyways, last year, my buddy with a short bed, had to haul a bunch of equipment took him 2 or 3 trips, well i did it this year in my longbed and got the stuff moved in one trip, i was laughin at him, of course, a ford ranger (him) and a chevy silverado (me) are definately two different types of trucks heh.....i win
