If you use your truck like a truck and haul with it, or tow with it long bed is the way to go. Long bed with the longer wheel base are much more stable when pulling a trialer and ride better when hauling. If your goning for looks then its up to the individual, but if your gonna work it, go long baby

IMO, if it's not an 8 foot bed, it's not a truck, it's an SUV! Doesn't matter if it's a reg, ext, or crew cab.

Just my .

I say if your towing, "you really don't need a short or long". I mean does it really matter in that aspect? Also, it depends on the cab. Your not going to get a long bed on a crew cab unless you get something bigger than a 1500 or 150. Just my opion I like the long bed, but I just bought a Chevy Silverado LTZ Z71 4x4! And I love it looks great, even with a short bed!

PEACE OUT! ACE_1969!

AND MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

Cool Its all about the size of the garage you're put'n your unit in.

My first one was a 79 F250 RC-4wd 8' bed alittle over 21ft. Second 96 F150 RC-4wd 8' bed around 22' long. Third was a 01 F150 SC-2wd 6.5' bed about the same lenth. Kids out grew that one, needed a crew cab. That was less than 24.5' LOA, so I could get the unit in the garage and walk to the Beer-fridge(very important tool). Now I have a GMC 1500 CC-4wd with a 5.5 bed thats 23.0' long. What I'm getting to is; Its not the size of the bed that makes it a pick-up truck. Its the size of your Heated Garage you park your Unit in and have a cold one while you polish it!

PS. sure miss that 8 footer...........

both. Shortbed 2wd look good lowered but ar rendered useless as a truck. if want to USE it longbed gets more work done.

if I had a short bed, it would get tubbed and toneau-ed. the bed would be useless...
but for me, the real joy in owning/operating a truck, is the versatility that I get with the long bed. i am a carpenter and would be lost without my 8 ft bed...

also, long bed=long wheelbase=more stability at speed..
better pulling with a long bed too.

i think that long bed trucks are better than short bed, becuz long beds haul more, and the truck is longer which makes it bigger.
