ok crab, I never got airborne in a 66 mustang but I did cruise alot in a friends 65. I however went airborne many times in my 79 trans am. Now that was a death machine. had a big block 400 with a tranny shift kit. would bark in every gear. haven't had a speeding ticket since I quit driving that thing. I'm 43!

Funny jktuck, my firebird was my last speeding ticket also.
Mine was a little different than yours though. I bought one new from the dealer. In 1983 I was still feeling the gas shortage and was driving 130 miles roundtrip each day to work. So I took a package that they offer at that time, and later found out I was the only one in America that did. I got about 38 mpg in it. That's because the package I ordered (and it did have to be ordered) was a 4cyl with a 5spd man. Bent the needle on the 85mph limit since that's where the trip odo reset was. Ticket was for 105mph coming out of Arizona into CA. Maybe because it was 2:30AM the guy was trying to be funny. He told me he clocked me following on a side road. This was in the desert and I don't really think he was doing 105 on sand. Back in the days when still crazy and doing the ricer thing without a ricer. That was the trip I made from St Louis to San Francisco in 26 hrs 31min. |

Those things were police magnets. One time in college ( THE University of Alabama ) I should NOT have been driving and we jumped a hill and the landing was so violent that I found I had busted the battery the next day. It's a good thing the lord wasn't ready for me that night. Very, very stupid!!!
