| Gear problem On my 88 pickup, shifting is fairly rough.Like getting the shifter into the gears...I have to pull/push really hard. Except for 5th, it almost falls out of gear. The previous owner said the 3" body lift had somethin to do with it but i was wondering if you all have any suggestions..Thanks -Andy- |

| welcome to the site: On your Yota there is a plate on the trans tunnel that can be removed. I doubt this is the problem, but anything is possible. Usually the troubles with Yotas and body lifts are related with the transfer case shifter, and not the transmission. The body often times has to be trimmed since the angles are off, after the body has been rasied. Give it a look to verify that nothing is binding. After it is out, you can remove and inspect the shifter for any worn components. |

| I don't understand how lifting it would keep it from shifting correctly?????? Maybe could be your clutch?
