| Very nice rig... is there much rust? I don't own a LC, they're a bit out of my price range. But I do admire them very much!

| Fj40 I had one, 1979, FJ40, 6 cyl with 4 speed no power steering. It had a lot of rust, sons and I fixed it, even put al side panels on it. Worst problems: had to install an electronic v6 chevy distributor and a heavy duty starter, then the old gal started right up Steering was loose, hard to steer down normal 2 lane roads, wanted to follow any and every road surface. Others said if you install power steering which can be modified off of a chevy truck, the vehicle steers much better. Parts were very high compaired to same model year jeep. But it was a lot of fun, ours weight about 4K without hardtop and you did not meet yourself going down the road. Son later sold it and I bought an old 1984 Jeep, cj-7 to use around on the farm, truly I have enjoyed the jeep more, but we had many 4x4's as the boys were in high school and had fun with them all. Have a good day, |
