| 1986 Dash lights I have an 86 4x4. Are there supposed to be lights behind the AC/ heater controls? Mine doesn't have any and hasn't since I bought it. Kind of tough at night to adjust controls. Thanks in advance. Doug |

| i doubt those bulbs would be replaceable, probably would have to buy new control unit.

| I haven't gotten into it yet. I asked because I didn't want to get into it if there were no lights in there, if you know what I mean. I tend to do stupid stuff like that all the time... dig in to fix something that doesn't actually exist. lol Doug |

| If there really isn't any bulb back there you could sneak a small LED in to show light thru the sliders if that's the style of controls. Use a "12v" LED (actually isn't any such thing) or a 0.7v LED (normal) in series with a set of three 400ohm 1/2watt resistors with ends twisted together and tap the parking light circuit.. Or just glue on one of those decorative accessory type lights they sell for $3.99. Depends on if you want to have an inny or an outy. |

| Well, I guess you know what I'll be doing tomorrow. I replaced the fuel pump today. I have been having oil leak out while I am driving on the freeway. I drive it about 60 miles a day. I finally had some time today to find the leak. There is a small hole in the bottom side of the fuel pump and oil was pouring out of there at higher rpm's. I suppose it's time for some stuff to need replacing. It only has 222,000 miles. Just getting her broken in. Wish me luck. I'm going looking for those lights tomorrow. I'll post what I find. | Buy the lamps first. I think you would be willing to spend $3 to avoid another open and shut session with dash. |
