sterring relay rod replacement saftey recal for 1990-1995 4runner 2wd and 4wd, 1989-1995 4wd pickup,1993-1998 T100. just got the recall in the mail just thought id let everyone know incase they didnt get it or didnt know. any toyota dealer should replace it for free.

overstress durring sterring such as "the sterring wheel being repeatedly turned under conditions where high sterring effort is required" can cause a fatigue fracture which which may cause a loss of sterring and "thus increasing the possibillity of a crash". gives an example of turning the sterring wheel is turned when vehicle is at rest.
