i ran into this once before. ended up telling the guy to have a shop that was insured to do the work. might costs a bit more but great insurance in the event that the plug broke off into the block.

Tanks guys, I did everything I could, and it is seized into hole, it finally rounded over the edges and so leaves no option but 2, try a grab it socket or pull the head,

Has any one ever put helicoil treads in a v6 toy,

I spoke with a mechanic from a now closed dealership today and he stated it is under a recall for life on the 3.0 v 6 had a extremly bad habbit of the head gaskets failing, I am gonna try and see what the dealer tells me on Monday. That is if I can find one

have heard great things out of helicoils in any engine. never used them myself; dont really plan to if my luck stays good. good luck trying to get that plug out. have you tried some kind of penetrating oil or PB blaster??

Plug that would not come out

I did not get that ______ Plug out I soaked it in every thing we could find, including when the porclen came out totally fill cyclinder up with a mixture of Kersione and diesel, finally said ____ it and pull complete engine, and pull head off. heated it with a rose bud, and used easy out , and problem was a real old one from TOYATO, blown head gasket, from the exhaust pipe over heating head. Found out they would have did all the work on a recall. Engine had 289000 Plus hard miles on it. So Why should I cry, my chevy and dodge never got that many with out having problems.
