22RE Filter woes

Hey guys, ran into a random situation while working on a buddies truck. Hes got a 1990 Toy pickup with the 4cyl 22RE FI.

We figured out the previous owner decided to remove the factory fuel filter and install an aftermarket oversized fuel filter and relocated it to a more convenient location above the passenger side wheel well.

Easy to change but the problem is we have no clue which replacement filter to use! I was hoping someone with more experience with these trucks could point me in the direction of some popular aftermarket oversized filters. We'll be working on this truck later this afternoon so I can provide pictures then to help. Any brands / sizes would be great!

All input is appreciated.

Wow, 19 views! Thanks for reading but we managed to find the right replacement.

I'm not really sure what the previous owner had intended to do with this toy but he sure had a wierd way of going about things... The whole truck is a horror show of sorts and the deeper I get into it the more "alternative" approaches we keep finding.

I'll try and grab some pics of this thing to show you guys, but first I have to find that **** camera...
Sorry for any wasted time and Thanks again!

Yeah that's what we ended up doing. I've been trying to broaden my knowledge base and so I'm offering my assistance / input free to anyone I know just for the hands on experience of it.

I should probably just hold my tongue (or in this case fingers) untill I get a real good assessment of the situation before I start throwing out questions.

As always, your input was very appreciated. Thanks for looking Stump!
