| T100 Xthreaded plugs Hello to everyone, I just found this forum and from what I have been reading there are some knowledgeable members. With that being said I hope you can help me with a problem I recently discovered. On my my 95 T100, 3.4 v6, the number 2 plug had been crossthreaded and I am wondering which thread chaser is best suited for the job. The plug wells seem to be deep and the normal thread chaser I used on other vehicles wont work (not enough room for the socket in the sleeve). I got my hands on a reverse threader but the wells are just deep enough that I can not get a hold of the nut to tighten it up so I can start backing it out. Hope someone can help. Thanks in advance for any feedback. |

| You may have to check with the local machine shop for a longer tap. This is very common on these aluminum heads though

| Finally ended up buying another spark plug as a sacrificial thread chaser. Filed 4 grooves on it, used some lithium grease and in ten minutes was able to chase the threads and I was able to get a small hose attached to a datavac in the cylnder and got only 1 sliver of head that dropped in..in case anyone else runs into this problem and doesn't want to pay the price a shop would charge this worked for me. Put 300 miles on it today and no problems. |
