| Has anyone replaced their upper and lower conrol arm bushings with poly? I bought daystar poly bushings for my 96 T100 some time ago. I just started overhauling the front end and realized that it may not be so easy. Do I reuse the sleeves? How do I get the factory rubber out? Or should I just leave alone?

| to get the bushings out, they have to be pressed out. if you try to beat them out, the other arm tends to get in the way. i believe one time i cut the end off and beat it out backwards. i have heard that poly bushings are really nice but never used them. if you decide to go with it, tell me how it turns out. you should have gotten everything that you needed to do the whole changeover in the package that you ordered. |

| done The poly bushings I recieved stated to reuse all steel hardware. Well with that in mind the bushings that are in the conrol arm are pressed in and molded to the steel sleeves. I took a chance and removed the arms, grabbed my torch and burnt the rubber out of one (low heat of course), thinking that its only a conrol arm and any import junk yard would be able to replace. Would you know after it cooled off and I cleaned it and the steel sleeve, it fit like a glove. I did have to cut the lower right arm off and ended up at the import junkyard and I did not know that the 4-runner and the T100 share the same control arms. Now that i have It all back together I don't know that I can tell the difference, it is much more firm but that may be that i tightened my torsion arms up a bit. Over all I think i'm glad I did it this way, I don't believe I would have liked to remove and press factories back in.

| i dont like messing around with upper and lower control arm bushings either way. ill keep what you said in mind. as for putting factory back in, it is not that difficult. it is alot easier, for me at least to take them out than it is for me to put them back in. glad youre back up and running. |
