Question Front Main Seal?

Oil leak, no leak from pan, looks like a seal is missing... Any advice on what it takes to fix and the cost? 1990 Tacoma DLX

well, if it is the front crank seal then it should be a easy fix. you may want to get some degreaser and clean the engine first, because the oil could be coming from somewhere higher up.

if it is a 22RE engine, it could be the timing chain is stretched and worn out, and has rubbed a hole in the front cover. Happened to a friend of mine, and took the afternoon to replace. Don't forget to check your timing when your done.

that shouldnt be too difficult to replace, just make sure that you know exactly where the leak is coming from, so you dont waste your day
