| body lift for '89 2wd w/power steering (question) Hi all, I'm new to this forum, but thought someone here may be able to help. I have a '89 toyota xtracab 2wd 5 speed, that I would like to put a 2" body lift on. I have looked at a few different brands and they ALL exclude trucks w/power steering. (say it wont work with p/s). I have looked at my truck, and the only reason that I can see that it might not work, is because the power steering resivour is mounted on the left fender well. This means that the low pressure return line from the pump, and the fluid supply line to the pump may have a problem. Other that that, I dont see any reason why the bodylift cant be used on my truck with power steering. (I also have another '89 truck without power steering, and have compared the two truks steering systems). I dont see any other differences. Has anyone here installed a body lift on '89 to '94 body style, with power steering? Can I simply lower the resivour with some homemade brackets, or redrill holes lower on the inner fender well? Is there some other issue that I'm not thinking of? Thanks in advance for any advise, Ron |
