kinda, i think they have just compromised on some of the major points. a new contract has not been drawn out as far as i know.

i think when retirees started showing up on the picket lines, GM knew they had a problem they had to settle fast.

The problem isn't the company's paying to much its all the company's that are getting away with paying illegal immagrants very low wages so they don't need to pay you and me money to do the same job. Yes GM is going down. it has to do with alot of things. Alot of it has to do with the gas prices.. Yes people say gm needs to stop making big trucks and SUV I disagree I believe we need cheaper fuel or another form of. Don't hate on GM or Ford for paying there people what there worth. Hate the ones that only hire people and pay them 6dollars an hour

Here's one reason GM's in trouble. I've been driving General motors cars or trucks since I got my first one in 1968... I think. Pontiacs, Olds, Buick, my good old Chevy SB pickup.
GM dosen't currently make a vehicle I'd buy. They don't offer engine choices anymore, and their exterior stylists seem to be playing copy-it to all the other manufacturers.

If I needed a new vehicle now I'd prolly have to go with a (cringe & shiver) Dodge.
Thank goodness my older Chevy's are still running strong.
