anyone else hear the news about Toyota beating GM in number of vehicles sold?

YES... here is the scoop on it. When GM ran the numbers and Toyota ran those numbers, since Toyota was a single company, meaning they import nothing, GM was not allowed to count anything other then genuine GM. Then, the claim is towards the trucks, but Toyota counted every vehicle sold, VS only the GMC and Chevy lines of trucks.

Working at a dealership that sold both Chevy and Toyota, I got both sides of this. GM imports quite a few vehicles that by right they can claim in their numbers, Hum.mer, Saturn, Opel, Suzuki and others, I just cannot think of them at the moment.

Toyota posted those results... was kind of skewed. You run apples to apples and say all Toyota vehicles sold VS all GM vehicles sold, and GM beats the socks off of them every day of the week, and twice on sundays!

So yeah, that is a little of the story behind that claim.
