I voted F150.

I'd take a smart car if I was on a small island and everyone else had mopeds...

The 3cyl diesel doesn't get any better fuel mileage than a Geo Metro (gas engine).
I'm averaging 25 mpg hwyin my truck. Estimated fuel economy on the Smart they claim is 60mpg in the real world it is 40mpg. So for a 1.0L engine producing 60hp getting 40 mpg is pretty sad really.

your safer in a Smart, than you would be in a Lexus. Smart cars are designed with a steel sub frame, in which the outer shells explode taking with them the kinetic energy from the impact. I've seen first hand an accident between a Smart & a Lexus, the Lex had more damage, and wasn't drivable, the Smart drove away although it did have a bent rear axle.
