1994 Chevy Suburban K2500 6.5 turbo Diesel 4x4 - Suburban Restoration, Refit and Add-ons - Mechanical, Electrical, Interior/Exterior, Sound system, Etc.
|
This '94 Suburban was a County Engineering Dept. SUV, a previous owner picked it up 13 months ago at the County auction, for $3750, he sold it nine months ago, for $4000. to the owner I bought it from, for $3500.00 in cash.
It's white with gray interior w/cloth seats, front 40-20-40, rear seats 60-40 fold downs, and a third row bench (taken out). It had 170,000 miles, no oil leaks, clean engine, and under the hood. The underbody was very clean, no rust (has electronic corrosion control unit) body has only minor dents, a few scratches, paint looks new (after wash&waxing) Interior clean. No power windows/locks, (I will add elect.locks,w/keyfob) The tires are Goodyear Wrangler 85% thread left, Kevalar sidewalls, P235AT-75R load range E x 16" standard GM rims, tires were just mounted on 16"x 8" Ultra's alum. alloy polished/clear coated, #175's rims. rotated tires, brakes inspected/rear adjusted, front disk pads/60% good, the fenders have large Black ABS Flares.
It has off-road skid plates installed, 4x4 cases/shift A-OK!, all shocks are ok, but will up-grade same soon, (Ruff Country Nitro 9000 gas shocks)
Rear springs 3/4T w/air adj. bags installed. Wired Class III rear hitch 7000 Lb. GTW, 650 lb. TW,
2"x 1"bolt- Ball, 2" Receiver, and Pintle hook, wired brake controler.
I've added, two 4x6" fog lights under the front bumper, a black grill guard w/chrome brush guards, and two 3 1/2"x 5" chrome lights on the grill guard. Replaced both 12V. Batteries w/Heartline #78 deep cycle 1000 ca 800cca. Installed my Cobra 129LTD CB 2-way, w/PA horn speaker & whip antenna.
To be Added: Upgrade OE speakers, w/All Pioneer TS-A's 4x6 3-way in dash, 4x10" 2-way in rear roof, add 5.5" mid's in rear-side doors, w/amps., add two 8" shallow Pioneer sub-woofers in tailgate panel, w/amp. The indash Delco AM/FM radio is good, it's size precludes finding a replacement, and just having a cubby-hole pocket there is not an option. I have a Pioneer DEH P47DH CD Tuner, 1 1/2 DIN, and 12 disk changer DEH-1280 for it.
And have to make a center console, between the dash and floor (tranny hump) the width of the dash center section, that will form fit the dash and extend toward the front seat console. (I'll download pictures of it when drawn up and made) In it I will mount 3 engine gages, below them a pre-amp EQ, under it the CD tuner, and from the side facing the passenger, on the bottom the CD changer.
The next project, a roof-top cargo rack 4'x 6', w/6" high sides, that is still on the drawing board.
