I just got an old B2000. It will start when it wants to and die when it wants to. There's no pattern to it. It has a carb so it can't be a fuel relay, although that's what it acts like. I changed the fuel filter, no improvement. Any ideas?

probably need to catch it in the no run situation and check for fuel and fire and determine which one is causing the problem.

Just had the same issue. It usually started but would randomly die. Problem was the ignition switch. The contacts were pits would lose contact in the run position.

    Welcome to the forum Bruce.
It has to be one of three things. Fuel, spark or compression, or, does the temperature gauge climb excessively high just before it shuts down ?
