This fastener is used to hold the bedliner onto the tailgate of a 97 Chevy. There are 3/8 inch plastic strips glued to the tailgate and these fasteners attache the bedliner to the strips. The shaft is about 3/8 long and 3/16 in diameter. I have asked at several parts and hardware stores. If someone could even name this, I think I could find it.

    Thanks in advance. Fastener.jpg

Beats me never seen anything like that. Most use sheet metal screws or self tapping screws to hold a bed liner in on the tailgate.

I can't remember where exactly I have seen that type of rivet I'm thinking it was a a electrical motor identification tag.
