Which cylinder do you use for timing a International 345 engine? Here's the firing order 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2

Oh I bet I know this one. And I bet I figured out why too. To be more explanatory, When timing this engine using a timing light, which plug # would attatch the timing lead to?

I think I know why it was done that way, or at least an idea of why. Anyone else have any ideas? Pop? 436? Would sure seem strange to time on #2 of the firing order, but I am sure there was a reason. Dave shut up ;), you already know what my suggestion was and why, so you are disqualified your answering, unless you have a differant theory than mine.

I cant remember for sure For some reason I want to say its because of the direction the engine rotates.

My guess was, because where #1 would have fallen was probably under the water pump, and a timing tab would not have been visible, and certainly not with a timimg light, so they jumped to the second plug wire in the firing order, to get the timing tab in a visual location. Whudda you think about that guess?
