’88 1/2 ton 5.7 ltr. I’m having an intermittent issue where I turn on a blinker and my volt meter starts jumping 3/4 scale with the blinker. It will also show less than 14 volts when the lights are on, occasionally. Checked with a volt meter and I’m showing right at 14 volts at the battery. Ideas?

I have this issue with my 94 but mainly due to the sub woofers and amps drawing alot of power. But even with it off the volt meter will bounce with blinker I just live with it for now and one of these days when I get a wild hair will mess with it.

    Instrument panel ground(s).
The RV series squares have a buss bar bolted to the LH kick panel over the e-brake.
Not sure where GM put em on the CK series T400 chassis but I bet it's not wildly different.

How many Amps are you running on your sound system and my blinkers will bounce my volt meter as well depending how much I’m pushing my amp?

I have two power acoustic 12's they are rating at something crazy like peak at 1200 rms at think like 800 watts they have to speaker connection on them so can run series or parraell, I have a eq run into my amp which is bridgeable which is how I smoked a sony explod 10, the amp I think is a pioneer? or cold be sony or maybe jvc, hel.l I don't remember, but it turned up to almost max. I have a jvc head unit second one since having the truck over 15 years good head units, front speakers are cheap sony xlpod 4 ways those dudes will scream will make your ears ring like beaing a concert, back speakers are still oem just don't feel like taking the back of the inside of cab apart to replace them.

Either way it thumps pretty good, you can hear me coming down road if I crank it up my headlights will get pretty dim at night if turn it up.
