automatic transmission stock or preformance what do you use
i wouldn't call it performance, all i have is a little shift kit and aftermarket sun shell. 2-3 hits hard when it is cold.
in my daily its just a stock tranny beefed up for towing.. in my toy the tranny is well built to handle 1000+ ponys
I use performance oil.. That's all I can afford.
Rebuilt mine using upgraded parts but it's still considwered stock.
I had the Trans shop give my truck a harder hitting second gear when I had my torq convertor changed but what makes it hit more is some electronic kit I bought to raise the line pressure it has stock mode one mode and two to where it chirps my tires even with 10 inch wheels.
4 year old thread!
But our info might still help him out especially if it has the sorry 4L60e I have had bad luck with them knock on wood mine is doing fine for now.
A friend of mine was pulled over by a motivated police man for speeding. He just had his trans rebuilt with the shift kit, but it was hitting a little too hard and he knew it and he was planning on taking it back to the same shop to tame it down a little... Long story-short, he was pulling away as easy as he could and it still chirped second gear, well on goes the lights again. Well the cop thought he was trying to be a smart ***; he tried explaining that it was not his fault and was planning on taking it back to the shop... no deal, after hearing his story the cop said that he should have it towed because he could control of the truck if it were to rain or hit a wet spot...some people need a little more to their life.
