    okay so heres more info
    shift light on the shifter for od never worked atleast not since i had it
    when the tranny went the first time i think i overheated it because it puked all the fluid out of the front seal
    took it in and they "rebuilt" it heavy duty converter deeper pan bigger cooler the whole nine
    it started slipping then eventually i lost all but 1st and reverse the second time
    lost od recently went back and they are saying that i no longer have warranty on it
    so here i am

    Well with no OD light you don`t know if OD is on or off. Check the wiring from the OD switch at the steering column, the wires there are known to break. Could well be the problem.
    Check also that your brake lights are working properly and if you have spliced in wiring at the rear lights check the condition of it.
