    Donny don't guess make sure so you know it's right on you don't have to remove the front cover to check what gears you have.


    Donny super easy instead of guessing and spending money if your not right just trying to help you.

    I appreciate all the help guys,I figured out about the rearend gears, still tryin to figure out the front, I found some #'s on the casing but no help on those. Im also trying to figure out if my truck has right transfer case or not. It says 2.72 ratio on it.The tape trick works fairly accurate?

    The T-Case should ave a round tag on the back side of the housing. I think it was the back side.
    It should have some numbers on it, with some letters.
    It should go something like NP241C or a NP243C etc.

    The t-case is good. Im having an issue when ingaging into 4-low I have grinding, but 4-hi engages smooth like it's suppose to. Any suggestions?Thanks in advance.

    When it is grinding going into 4 low, is the vehicle moving ?
    I always have to come to a complete stop to get Mine to go into 4 low.
    If the trans is in neutral it will then grind too.
    Must be stopped in gear or stopped in park to go to 4 low.

    Mine is always in neutral when I try to engage it,I thought it had to be in neutral to engage it. Will try it in gear to see how it does. Appreciate quick response MrMarty51
