The goal is to take a 2002 Chevy 2500HD 6.0L with 4L80E and rip out the autmatic transmission.
Will be replacing the 4L80E with the NV4500 manual transmission. I plan on leaving the steering column in the truck just to confuse the f%$^ out of any would be thieves.

Clutch pedal installed. Had to cut 1 7/8" off left side of brake pedal to make room for clutch. Will fabricate bracket to support top bolt of clutch pedal assembly.

You will be glad when you get it done. I ripped auto out of mine years ago and put in 5 speed manual. Found correct ECm and even shift lights work. Great Project!

And I left old column auto shift collar but removed the lever

When I had my issues with my auto tranny I was really thinking of swapping a manual if I had the money to do the swap and parts I may would have, but the draw back is sometimes my girlfriend needs my truck when I take the car to work and she don't know how to drive a manul shift.

I went on a salvage yard raiding party (several actually). Finally found all the parts I needed for the swap including ECM

Popped the shift top off the manual and saw grey fluid covering the shifter bars. Got me worried that i might need to rebuild the transmission. 290k miles of heavy hauling. It has resently started popping out of 5th when i hit a bump.

It don't cost too much to rebuild the NV4500, might want to do it while its out? This is the coolest thread ever!!!
